The eighth annual Evolve Charity Golf Day has raised the biggest single amount in the tournament’s history. The record £8,500 for Galloways followed a sell-out event attended by businesses from across Lancashire.
The event took place on Friday, 29 May at Ashton & Lea Golf Club and was organised by Bamber Bridge-based Evolve Document Solutions in partnership with Preston-based Optimum Signs. Over twenty teams and more than 80 golfers took part in a day of golf, networking and fundraising in support of the charity.

Now in its eighth year, the tournament has raised almost £40,000 for local causes since it was established. This year’s fundraising total of £8,500 is the highest amount raised in the event’s history. Galloways, which has supported people living with sight loss across Lancashire and Sefton since 1867, was selected as the 2026 beneficiary.
Daniel Maddox, Managing Director of Evolve Document Solutions, said: “When we launched the golf day, we hoped it would bring local businesses together to support good causes. To raise a record £8,500 for Galloways is beyond what we expected. The support from everyone who entered a team, donated prizes, bought raffle tickets and took part on the day has been incredible.
“Galloways helps people adapt to sight loss and maintain their independence, so it’s been great that the business community supported the charity to help raise funds for its important work.”
The event featured a team competition, alongside individual contests including nearest the pin and longest drive. Forbes Solicitors won on the day, with teams competing for honours throughout the tournament. A charity raffle and auction also contributed to the final fundraising total, with support from local businesses.
Galloways provides practical and emotional support for people living with sight loss through services including mobility training, assistive technology advice, wellbeing support and social activities. Funds raised from the golf day will contribute towards the continuation of these services across the region.
Planning is already underway for the 2027 event, with businesses invited to register their interest in future team entries, sponsorship opportunities and prize donations by contacting the organisers.
