The seventh annual Evolve Charity Golf Day will take place on Friday 29 May at Ashton & Lea Golf Club, with this year’s event supporting Galloways Society for the Blind.
Organised by Bamber Bridge-based Evolve Document Solutions in partnership with Preston’s Optimum Signs, the event has become a staple in the Lancashire business calendar, bringing together teams for a day of golf, networking and fundraising.
Now entering its seventh year, the tournament has raised more than £30,000 for local causes to date. This year’s beneficiary, Galloways, is a long-established North West charity providing practical and emotional support to people living with sight loss across Lancashire and Sefton.
Teams of four are invited to take part, with 20 teams competing across 18 holes. Entry is £280 per team, which includes breakfast on arrival and post-round food and drinks. A range of prizes will also be up for grabs on the day.
Daniel Maddox, managing director of Evolve Document Solutions, said: “We’re really proud to be bringing the golf day back for a seventh year and to be supporting Galloways this time around. It’s a charity that does incredibly important work in our region, helping people maintain independence and confidence despite sight loss. We’re looking forward to another great day with the business community coming together for a cause that really matters.”
Shane Friend, director at Optimum Signs, added: “The event has grown year on year, and it’s always brilliant to see both familiar faces and new teams getting involved. There’s a great atmosphere on the day, but what makes it special is knowing the difference it makes to local charities like Galloways.”
Galloways Society for the Blind, founded in 1867, supports thousands of people through services including specialist equipment advice, talking newspapers, social activities and independence training. The charity relies heavily on community fundraising and volunteer support to continue its work.
