A Preston runner sponsored by Evolve Document Solutions has completed the London Marathon 2026 while raising more than £4,000 for Epilepsy Action.
Joanne Chard completed the 26.2-mile course in a recorded time of 5:59:43 after taking part in the annual event held in London on 26 April 2026. The route began in Blackheath and finished on The Mall, passing landmarks including Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf.
The fundraising campaign associated with her run set an initial target of £2,800 and raised £ 4,030 from 64 donors. The challenge was supported by sponsorship from Evolve Document Solutions.

Joanne Chard was born with epilepsy and experienced her first seizure at the age of ten. Her fundraising campaign focused on raising awareness of the condition and supporting research through Epilepsy Action, which provides advice, support services, and campaigns on behalf of people affected by epilepsy in the UK.
Epilepsy affects approximately one in 100 people in the UK. The London Marathon is recognised as one of the largest annual fundraising events globally, with participants raising money for a range of charities each year.
Joanne Chard said: “Running this marathon was personal for me. Epilepsy has shaped so much of my life, even though people can’t always see it. Every step I took was for others living with it, especially children who might feel held back or labelled.”
The fundraising page linked to the event remains open for further donations, with proceeds continuing to support Epilepsy Action’s programmes and services.
